Rich and opulent, this high elevation Grüner comes from nearly 600m beside Lake Chelan. Rich nutty aromatics are met with apricot flesh and hints of tarragon. The palate is fleshy and rich; almond skin, ripe yellow peach flesh, and honeyed stone fruits are brightened and lifted by ample acidity and a spine of stony minerality.

A December ’22 deep freeze cut the ’23 crop in half. But the half that survived produced some splendid wines. This is lively, mineral-drenched, beautifully textured and expressive. Citrus zest – lemon, lime and grapefruit – is on parade here. The clarity and freshness make this a standout. Drink it young and chilled. 130 cases; 12.4%; $28 (Lake Chelan) 92/100
