2021 Merlot
Grape: Merlot
Vineyard: Block '14, Block '98
Aged 28 months in new and neutral oak
Winemaker Notes: This is a monster merlot. 2021's heat allowed us to fully ripen our Merlot in both the 14 block and 98 block to perfection. The fruit came in at 26 brix and a 3.7 ph with fully ripe tannins and strong dark fruit. We hand-harvested, sorted and destemed the merlot and then fermented it in open top fermentors and aged it in new and neutral french oak for 28 months. When blending this merlot I was pleasantly surprised to find barrel after barrel of strong and structured wine.

100% varietal, this wine was aged 28 months in new and neutral French oak. The aromas are effusive, with notes of raspberry compote, plum, gummy candy, and dried herb. Rich, lush flavors follow. There’s a vein of acidity running through it that ups the interest. 15.1% alcohol. TCA-free micro-agglomerated cork. 255 cases produced.
