The Vineyard

The 2022 vintage proved to be a quite challenging vintage. We faced cold temperatures throughout the growing season, but were saved with an October in which we had temperatures in the 80s nearly until Halloween. This allowed us to hang the fruit longer to achieve the phenolic ripeness that we needed.

The Winemaking

Cabernet Franc is a grape that is incredibly well suited to the Lake Chelan AVA. This Cabernet Franc is a blend of Amos Rome Estate Block ‘14 and Block ‘98 and leans heavily on the older vines for structure and depth. We hand-picked and hand-sorted these grapes and then fermented in open top bins for 19 days until the wine was pressed and aged in a mixture of new and neutral french oak for 20 months before it was bottled and bottled-aged for 15 months.
